Devon cyclist Will Tidball says he won't be taking part in the Paris Olympics.

Will, who rides for the Cornwall-based St Piran's team, says he was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus three months ago.

In a statement on social media, he's said that means "I've had to be a 'civilian' and stay away from the bike.

"It's sad to say the Olympic dream has had to be put on hold for 4 more years. Especially after the best 12 months racing on the track, and securing results which I could only dream of."

But he says it's not all doom and gloom - "I've learnt lots from the last few months from planting veg, riding horses and even driving tractors....showing me there is a lot more to life than riding bikes."

He says he'll be watching the games from the edge of his seat.
