Motorcyclist taken to hospital with serious injuries following South Molton crash

A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to try and find out the cause of the collision

Police are trying to determine the cause of a crash in Devon.

The single-vehicle collision - involving a motorcycle - happened on the B3227 near South Molton yesterday afternoon (10 August).

As a result, the rider sustained serious injuries and had to be taken to hospital.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"At 15:06hrs on Tuesday 10th August 2021, Police were notified of a single vehicle motorcycle road traffic collision on the B3227 at Molland Near South Molton.

"The collision involved a Moto Guzzi V11 motorcycle. As a result of the collision the rider received serious injuries and was conveyed to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance.

"Officers from the Alliance’s Roads Policing Team attended the scene.

"A full investigation of the scene took place and officers are working to establish the cause of this collision.

"Police thank the public for their patience while they investigated the scene."

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision to telephone 101 quoting Log 567 of 10th August 2021.
