Motorcyclist dies following crash in Teignmouth

Two vehicles were involved - Bishopsteignton Road was closed for several hours

Police are seeking witnesses following a fatal crash in Teignmouth, in which a motorcyclist died.

Emergency services were called around noon yesterday (Monday 1 August), after the collision between a black Kia Sportage towing a caravan and an orange Zontes motorcycle on Bishopsteignton Road near Broadmeadow Industrial Estate.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 70s from Paignton, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kia driver was uninjured.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended, and the road was closed until around 7.00pm while a specialist examination of the scene was carried out.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses to contact them. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have relevant dashcam of the incident.
