A mother and son have been sentenced for running a drug dealing operation from their home in Exeter.

Jayne Warren, 56, and Jake Warren, 31, both of Bennett Square, Exeter, were sentenced at Exeter Crown Court on November 17th after pleading guilty to offences related to the supply of Class A and B drugs including cocaine, cannabis.

Jake Warren was jailed for three years and four months, while Jayne Warren received a three-year community order including 240 hours of unpaid work.

Police carried out a warrant at the Bennett Square property in March 2025.

Officers seized £22,000 in cash stored in various places around the house and found a significant amount of cannabis and cocaine stashed in a box in their garden.

In total the amount of drugs located at the property had a potential street value of an estimated £33,000.

A full set-up for preparing drugs was also found in their spare bedroom.

Police also seized mobile phones and Jake Warren’s fingerprints were found on drugs packaging discovered at the property.

Further investigations revealed CCTV footage of Jayne Warren depositing large sums of cash at a nearby post office several times a week.

The money, according to police, was laundered for her son before being transferred to him.

Both mother and son were charged with drug and money laundering offences in March 2025.

Jayne Warren admitted money laundering and permitting her property to be used for purposes of drug supply.

Jake Warren pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of class A and class B drugs and possessing criminal property and was sentenced to three years and four months in prison.

Detective Constable Rosie Garnett, who led the investigation, said: "This investigation highlights how different generations of the same family became embroiled in the drug trade and benefited from the profits.

“It was clear that the mother dealt with the business side of the operation while her son distributed the drugs. Both had chosen to engage in the sale of drugs which has resulted in today’s outcome.”
