Two teenage boys, a 15 and 17-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a serious assault in Devon.

Officers say they received reports last night (1st September) at around 9.10pm that a 17-year-old boy had been assaulted at a Morrisons in Cranbrook.

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital with suspected stab wounds.

Detective Inspector Neil Lloyd said “We understand that whilst crimes of this nature are rare, there will be a concern in the local community. There will be an increased police presence in the area today while we collect evidence and speak to witnesses.

“We are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident at this time.

“If you have any concerns or saw something please speak to the officers or call us on 101.

“We would also urge anyone who lives locally to check CCTV footage and dashcams that may have captured relevant footage.”
