Police given more time to question man over Plymouth murder

A 58 year old woman was found dead at an address in the city on Wednesday

Police have been given more time to question a man arrested on suspicion of murder in Plymouth.

​Officers have been granted a further 36 hours to question a 32 year old man from the city.

Police received a report of concern for the welfare of a woman at an address on Colwill Road, Plymouth, at around 1.20am on Wednesday 31 May.

A 58-year-old woman deceased at the scene - she's not been formally identified, but her next of kin are being supported by specialist officers, and enquiries are ongoing to establish a cause of death.

Extra police patrols are also going to be in the area for the next few days to provide added reassurance for the public.
