It’s the latest improvement to the service since SWISCo - a new company wholly owned by Torbay Council - took over took over running a range of frontline services, including waste and recycling services, for Torbay residents.

It also comes during national Recycling Week (21 – 27 September).

Residents will be able to book ten minute slots, up to four weeks in advance via thr Torbay Council Website.

Councillor Mike Morey, Cabinet Member for Infrastructure, Environment and Culture, said: “We’re very pleased to be able to extend the opening hours of the Recycling Centre on Saturdays and it is timely that we have been able to do this during national Recycling Week as we really want to do all we can to encourage residents to recycle as much as possible.

“Don’t forget it’s much easier and quicker to book online, and you can also take your garden waste to the Recycling Centre.”
