Man taken to hospital following assault in Plymouth

Officers, including armed units, remained in the area overnight

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault in Plymouth.

It happened in Hotham Place yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 18 January).

A man has been taken to hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police released this statement last night: "Police were called at around 3.25pm with a report of an assault at an address in Hotham Place, Plymouth.

"Ambulance also attended and a man was taken to hospital with what are currently believed to be serious injuries.

"Officers, including armed units, remain in the area while enquiries continue."

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information, to call 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting log 481 of 18 January.
