Man racially assaulted, punched and bitten in Plymouth attack

Police have shared a description of a suspect

A man's been hospitalised following an assault on Plymouth Hoe, with the victim racially abused, punched and bitten.

It happened next to the Naval Memorial at around 4.50pm on Monday 31st March, with the details just released by Devon and Cornwall Police.

The suspect is described as:

  • Male
  • Asian heritage
  • Aged in his 20s or 30s
  • Around five feet ten inches tall
  • Slim build
  • Medium length dark hair that's longer on top and short on the sides
  • No facial hair
  • Wearing a dark blue tracksuit top
  • Green top underneath
  • Tracksuit bottoms
  • Trainers
  • Carrying a tan brown bag

They left the scene along Armada Way towards Citadel Road afterwards.

Police want to hear from any witnesses to the incident, especially if anyone has dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area.
