Man in life-threatening condition after serious North Devon crash

Witnesses are sought to a serious collision in North Devon which left a man with life-threatening injuries

Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash.

The incident left a man with life-threatening injuries.

In a statement, officers said: "Emergency services were called around 4.40pm on Wednesday 23 July following a single car collision on the B3227 near High Bullen.

"The blue Vauxhall Astra had collided with a bridge wall.

"The driver, a man in his 20s from South Molton, was extracted from the vehicle by the fire service. He was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team closed the road for four hours for investigative work and for the recovery of the car.

"They are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.

"Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact police online or by telephone on 101, quoting log number 606 of 23 July."
