Man in hospital after car collides with pedestrian in Torquay

Police are appealing for witnesses

Torquay Police are appealing for witnesses after a car collided with a pedestrian yesterday evening.

It took place at around 6.30 pm, on Belgrave Road near to the junction with Church Street. The pedestrian, a local man in his 50s, was seriously injured and is being treated at hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Local officers as well as officers from Roads Policing Team conducted an investigation at the scene. The road was reopened by around 10pm.
