Man in 90s dies after M5 crash

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries and later died

Police are investigating a crash on the M5 near Exeter where a man in his 90s died.

Officers were called at around 11am on Tuesday (28 October) to the southbound on slip at junction 29 following a report of a collision involving a Blue Ford Fiesta, Grey Land Rover Discovery and a Grey Mazda CX-5.

A 94-year-old man who was a passenger in the Ford sustained multiple serious injuries was taken to hospital. Police were told that sadly he passed away yesterday (30 October).

A second passenger in the Ford sustained a serious injury which is not life-threatening or changing.

The slip road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene.

Investigators believe a number of people will have seen the collision but would have been unable to stop due to it being on the motorway.
