Man arrested after being caught with drugs outside Paignton Hospital
Police put on a chase to catch a group of men who were loitering in the car park
A man has been arrested after being caught with drugs in Paignton.
Officers were called to Paignton Hospital, following reports of a group of men in the carpark there.
They gave them a chase, before apprehending a man in possession of Cannabis.
The other men were later identified and the whole group will also be dealt with for breaching Coronavirus regulations.
Paignton Police put out this statement on their Facebook page:
"Following reports of a group of males in the carpark of Paignton Hospital, Police attended. A group of 4 males were located with 2 running off through the Hospital grounds.
"Police gave chase on foot chasing them through gates and over a wall onto Church Street, then onto Torquay Road. Police officers in vehicles also responded.
"With the assistance of a Member of Public, one male was apprehended in possession of two rucksacks.
"Further searches of the male located a quantity of Cannabis, individually wrapped.
"The male with the Cannabis was arrested and is being dealt with.
"All 4 males were identified and will be dealt with for breaching Coronavirus regulations."
