Man hit by car and assaulted in Teignmouth

Armed units visited addresses and arrested three men yesterday

A man has been left with a head injury after allegedly being hit by a car and then assaulted by a group in Teignmouth.

Police officers are investigating reports that a male was set upon by a group of people in Bank Street at around 4pm yesterday (22nd January).

It is alleged the victim, aged in his 30s, was initially hit with a car and then assaulted by the occupants of the vehicle.

He sustained a head injury and superficial cuts.

Officers, including armed units, later attended addresses in Teignmouth and Dawlish.

A 58-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Teignmouth, and a 39-year-old man from Dawlish have been arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH.

All remain in police custody at this time.
