Man held on suspicion of murder in Devon

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in West Devon.

The 60 year old was found at a house in Okehampton in the early hours of Saturday May 15.

She was pronounced dead at the scene when police and paramedics were called to the property in Wonnacotts Road.

Her death is being treated as suspicious. The 64 year old suspect is thought to be known to the victim.

"Police and South West Ambulance were called to a house in Wonnacotts Road, Okehampton in the early hours of this morning (15/5/21) where a 60 year old female occupant was pronounced dead.

"The full circumstances of her death is unclear but the Police are currently treating it as suspicious at this time.

"A 64 year old male, who is believed to be known to the victim, is currently in Police custody after being arrested on suspicion of her murder. "
