Man arrested in Exeter following social media threats to schools
Police are questioning a man on suspicion of malicious communications
A man's been arrested in Exeter on suspicion of malicious communications offences.
It follows reports of schools getting threats through social media channels.
Chief Inspector Chris Conway from Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Following a report of concerns regarding threats made towards school settings via social media, officers have made an arrest.
“I can confirm we are not seeking anyone else in connection to this matter.
“We know that this had been circulated amongst the community and an increased police presence may have caused concern.
“At this time we do not believe that any schools had been attended and there were no injuries."
There's also a plea for the public not to speculate on the incident while an investigation's ongoing.
Anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to their local neighbourhood officers during patrols.
