The fire service have determined a fire at a large luxury car garage was accidental.

They were called out on Friday afternoon to the site in Abbotskerswell.

Crews have wished the occupants of the site ‘the very best’ in getting back to normal.

in a statement, crews from the Buckfastleigh Fire Station said: "Yesterday at approximately 16:55 we were called to take the Incident Command Unit from Totnes to a large garage housing luxury vehicles in the Abbotskerswell area.

"The garage was well alight with fire appliances from Torquay, Newton Abbot, Paignton and Bovey Tracey in attendance alongside a hydraulic platform and two water bowsers due to the very low pressure in the surrounding areas hydrants.

"Our role was to provide command and control support to the incident ground ensuring a disciplined line of communication to and from the incident to our control room colleagues in Exeter.

"This fire was deemed to be accidental and we wish the occupants the very best in getting back to normal as soon as possible."
