Investigation after head-on collision in Okehampton

Police are investigating a head-on two-vehicle collision on New Road, Okehampton.

Detectives say it involved a blue BMW and a red Ford Fiesta, and took place at around 4pm on Wednesday 17 September.

Devon and Cornwall Police say: "The driver of the Ford left the scene immediately after the collision, and officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this individual or captured relevant footage.

"The BMW driver was taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining minor injuries.

"A man in his 30s from the Okehampton area has since been arrested on suspicion of several driving offences, including drink driving, dangerous driving, and driving whilst disqualified.

"He remains in police custody at this time."
