Gull-fest returns to Plymouth 'to help us appreciate seagulls'
It;s the second year of the event, which aims to be both light-hearted but also raise important environmental concerns
A festival celebrating seagulls - and why we don't appreciate them enough - gets underway today in Plymouth.
A spokesperson for the event said: "Last year’s event saw an gulliferous flourishing of gull-based art, performance, activity, ritual and this year promises the same.
"Over forty artists will deliver art, performance, poetry, song, workshops, and plenty of squawks. All for free."
Astudy by the University of Exeter recently foundseagulls prefer seafood and in tests will choose fish - rather than things like ice creams or chips which they steal from humans.
