A Ukrainian Easter Service is taking place at Exeter Cathedral today.

The service will be held in Ukrainian by an Orthodox chaplain, a Ukrainian priest of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, who is making a special journey to conduct it. A prayer for Ukraine and the Ukrainian army will be read during the service.

Ukrainians, their English hosts and friends are invited to bring Easter cakes and Easter eggs, which will be blessed during the service, according to Ukrainian tradition. It's the second year the event's been organised by the Devon Ukrainian Association.

After the service, a community picnic is planned to be held on the Cathedral Green.

The event gets underway at 12pm.
