The General Election results are in for Devon, with the Conservatives losing a number of their seats across the county.

Labour has won the election, meaning Sir Keir Starmer is the new Prime Minister.

Millions of people went to polling stations across the UK to vote yesterday (Thursday 4 July).

Declarations

The Liberal Democrats have made a number of gains across the county. They have taken North Devon, Newton Abbot, Torbay and South Devon (formerly Totnes) from the Tories.

The Party has also won the Honiton and Sidmouth constituency, a seat created from the old Tiverton and Honiton and East Devon seats - as well as the new Tiverton and Minehead constituency.

Labour have held onto Exeter. The previous MP for the constituency, Ben Bradshaw, announced that he was standing down earlier this year.

Labour have gained Plymouth Moor View from the Conservatives, whilst also retaining Plymouth Sutton and Devonport.

The Tories have held onto a number of seats across the county, including Central Devon, South West Devon, Torridge and Tavistock (previously Torridge and West Devon) and Exmouth and Exeter East.
