A fire in Marsh Barton early this morning - which resulted in people being asked to keep doors and windows shut - was started accidentally.

Fire crews have just given an update after being called to a scrap metal yard just before 2am - which left 'waste goods severely damaged by fire'.

On arrival, a concrete bay measuring approximately 5m x 5m and containing 6-tonnes of small electrical goods was found alight.

Crews are still damping down at the scene, with the latest update here
