Fire crews are at the scene of a major blaze at a recycling centre in Exeter.

Emergency services were called to Greendale Business Park at 1:23am on Tuesday (24th September).

Five fire engines from Torquay, Danes Castle, Honiton and Middlemoor are attending the scene.

In a statement, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue confirmed the fire involved 12 tonnes of mixed non-hazardous waste and 12 tonnes of cardboard.

They advise local residents and businesses keep doors and windows closed due to a lot of smoke in the area.
