A fire at a holiday park in the Barnstaple area saw fire crews tackling the blaze throughout the night and the early hours of the morning.

The fire is believed to have started in the swimming pool complex at Watermouth Lodges Holiday Park, Berrynarbor. At the height of the blaze, eight fire engines, a water bowser and aerial ladder platform were used. The on-site pool was also used as a water supply.

Devon and Somerset Fire Service say there was 100% fire damage to the pool and sauna area, as well as 50% smoke damage to the toilets and changing rooms.

The cause of the blaze is currently being investigated.
