Exmouth beach death "not suspicious"

Emergency services were called to Orcombe Point on 22nd August where the body of a teenage boy had been discovered

Police were called at around 6.20am on Saturday 22 August with reports that a body had been found on the beach near Orcombe Point in Exmouth.

Emergency services attended the scene and a 16-year-old local boy was declared deceased.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.

In a statement, Devon and Cornwall Police said "This is a desperately sad and tragic incident for everyone involved and our thoughts are with the boy’s family and friends at this difficult time."
