Exeter City Football Club chair Richard Pym resigns
Laurence Overend steps in as interim chair
Richard Pym, chair of Exeter City Football Club, has stepped down from his role following a period of significant progress for the Club.
Richard took up the chairmanship in November 2025 after returning to support the Club earlier in the autumn. During his tenure, he made key contributions towards placing the Club on firmer financial ground.
This includes finalising agreements for forward financing of deferred transfer payments and outlining a plan for loan support. Richard also proposed a Rights Issue to increase the Trust’s shareholding in the Club and attract new investment opportunities.
Laurence Overend will serve as interim Club Chair while Exeter City begins the process of finding his permanent replacement.
The Club and its Trust expressed gratitude for Richard’s leadership, saying his expertise was instrumental in securing the Club’s future.
