Exeter secured a record-breaking win over Premiership champions Saracens yesterday.

Exeter's 11-try 65-10 victory was the heaviest defeat Sarries have ever suffered in the top flight.

The champions had a number of high-profile players away on World Cup duty as they faced a new-look young Exeter.

It was Exeter's biggest opening-day win since a 52-0 victory at London Welsh in September 2014.

It came after a summer that saw 11 players - including Jack Nowell, Sam Simmonds, Stuart Hogg and Dave Ewers - who had formed the backbone of the squad that won the 2020 European Champions Cup and two domestic titles leave the club.
