Downing Street unveiling for Devon Christmas tree
It's not just Devon's climate and beaches which stand out, so too do our Christmas trees.
A Devon-grown Christmas tree will today be unveiled outside Number 10 Downing Street - after a nationwide competition by the British Christmas Tree Growers Association.
Marldon Christmas Tree Farm were crowned 'Champion Christmas Tree Grower of the Year' with "Champion Festive Wreath" going to Friezeland Christmas Tree Farm in Warwickshire.
The annual competition has been running since 1999. This year saw record entries with 73 Christmas trees entered and 26 wreaths from growers all over the UK.
Heather Parry, Managing Agent for BCTGA, said: “Our congratulations go to Marldon Christmas Tree Farm which not only win the overall grower of the year award but also took a total of four awards.”
