A Royal Navy sailor injured aboard a warship in Plymouth Sound has been airlifted to hospital.
HM Coastguard was called at 11.09 on January 13th to assist the casualty.
An HM Coastguard Search and Rescue Helicopter transported the sailor to a Helicopter Landing Site for onwards travel to hospital.
Large aircraft, including coastguard helicopters, are no longer permitted to land at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
It follows an inquest in 2022 that found an 87-year-old woman was blown over by the down draft from a coastguard helicopter landing at the hospital.
Helicopters now land at sites such as Bickleigh barracks, although the Hoe Promenade has also been used for transfers in specific cases.
