Coast path shut in Sidmouth after cliff fall
Beer coastguard rescue team were sent to Sidmouth after it happened between Peak Hill and High Peak in Sidmouth on Saturday.
The coastguard rescue team and council staff have taped off the area at the top of a cliff of the cliff fall.
A path diversion slightly inland has been made, this will allow walkers a safe path to High peak if going West and to Peak hill if walking East.
The council have also erected temporary signs, which will be replaced with permanent signs in the near future.
The service closed the path and asked people to "please avoid this area".
It advised people to stay back from the cliff edge, take note of the warning signs and to call 999 and ask for the coastguard if anyone is in difficulty.
