The family of a teenager killed in a fatal motorcycle collision in Bugle last week have paid tribute to him.

Devon and Cornwall Police were alerted to an incident taking place on the B3374 last Wednesday (May 14th), attending an incident between a motorcycle and a car.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 6:35pm and closed the road for a forensic examination.

However, despite the best efforts of paramedics, who were called to the scene, the 19-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later.

Police have now named the victim of the crash as 19-year-old Benjamin George Lightfoot, with his family offering a tribute through the force.

In a statement, the family described him as one of the "most incredibly loved" people, saying that his loved ones have been left bereft.

"Very suddenly and unexpectedly, Bugle suffered a horrific loss on Wednesday with the sudden passing of Benji, a very much loved and adored part of the community and where Benji’s heart truly belonged.

"Most incredibly loved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to everyone. Benji, you are missed so very deeply already that words cannot describe. We love you."

Police are continuing their investigations, and are continuing to urge anyone who could have any information regarding the crash to get in touch.

Anyone who may be able to help officers can get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 703 from May 14th.
