Boy in 'potentially life threatening condition' after crash near Week St Mary

Police are appealing for information following a serious two vehicle crash at a set of crossroads Week St Mary.

It happened yesterday afternoon - with a 6 year old boy rushed to Bristol Childrens Hospital in a potentially life threatening condition.

In a statement, officers said: "Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious road traffic collision at a set of crossroads at Wheatley Road and Highmoor near Week St Mary.

"The collision occurred on Wednesday 28 August at 5pm and involved a black VW Tiguan and a red Nissan Qashqai.

"A 6-year-old boy, a passenger in the Qashqai, suffered potentially life changing injuries and was taken to Bristol Childrens Hospital. The drivers of the two cars were uninjured.

"Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed for the investigation to take place.

"Officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to them, but who may have seen the collision, or have dash camera footage, to contact police via our website, or by calling 101, quoting occurrence 50240217835."
