The body of a missing man from Newton Abbot has been found.

33-year-old Shaun Brown was last seen in March, with searches taking place over the last eight months to find him.

But Devon and Cornwall Police say a body has now been found.

In an update issued this morning (Monday 22 November), they said formal identification confirmed that the body is that of Shaun Brown.

His next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"Police were called at 1.15pm on Friday 5 November to the Teigngrace area, Newton Abbot, following reports that a body had been located.

"Officers attended the scene to carry out further enquiries and human remains were recovered.

"Formal identification has since taken place and the body is that of 33-year-old Shaun Brown, who was reported missing from the Newton Abbot area in March; his next of kin has been informed.

"His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner."
