Biker suffers serious injuries after crash on A30 in Devon

Police say the woman in her 50s was airlifted to hospital after a collision near Honiton

Police say a biker has suffered serious injuries following a crash on the A30 in Devon.

They have confirmed a woman in her 50s was airlifted to Derriford Hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The casualty's motorbike was the only vehicle involved in the collision near Honiton.

The road was closed for several hours and Devon and Cornwall Police have thanked the public for their patience.

The force is urging anyone who might have seen what happened or who has dashcam footage to contact police via 101.

They said: "Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A30 near Honiton at the weekend are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"Officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorbike on the westbound carriageway of the A30 at around midday on Saturday 26 February.

"The motorcyclist, a woman in her 50s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

"She sustained a number of injuries, but they are not considered to be life threatening or life changing and her condition has since been described as stable.

"The road was closed for around two hours while officers from the Alliance Roads Policing Team examined the scene, and police would like to thank the public for their patience with this.
