Two people are injured, one with a serious head injury
Two people have been injured - one seriously in the head - after a major crash near Bideford.
Police were rushed to the scene on the A386 outside Little Dene around 7.50pm last night, following reports of a single vehicle collision.
According to reports, a black BMW had left the road to the nearside, collided with trees and then re-joined the main carriageway before the vehicle burst into flames.
Fortunately, both people in the car had excited at this point.
They were then both taken to North Devon Hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of injuries suffered, one occupant was subsequently transferred to Derriford Hospital with a serious head injury.
The road has been reopened after a lengthy investigation by Devon and Cornwall Police officers.
