Ashburton driver in his 30s dies in single-car collision
Police seek dash-cam footage after road closed for hours
A man in his 30s has died in a road traffic collision near Ashburton.
Police officers were called at 3.45pm on 27th January after reports of a car leaving the unnamed road between Buckfastleigh and Ashburton, near Gages Farm.
The vehicle, a green Subaru Legacy Outback, was found in a field next to the road.
The driver, believed to be local to the area, was declared dead at the scene.
Roads Policing Officers and local teams attended to carry out an investigation, and the road was shut for several hours.
Police have thanked the public for their patience during the closure and are now appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle in the lead-up to the collision or earlier to come forward. Officers are especially eager to hear from those with dash-cam or CCTV footage.
