Armed police and helicopter called to altercation between men in Plymouth

Armed police were called to an incident in Plymouth following an altercation between two men, which led to one man being taken to hospital.

Devon and Cornwall Police say they were alerted late on Saturday 6th February to a disturbance in Honicknowle Lane by the South West Ambulance Service.

Officers were later assisted by the NPAS helicopter.

One male was taken to Derriford Hospital where he received treatment with his condition described as stable.

The force has said that this is an isolated incident and they are not looking for any other offenders.

Detectives are now investigating the incident and is asking for anyone who has any information to get in touch with them.

"Late on Saturday 6th February 2021, police were alerted to a disturbance in Honicknowle Lane, Plymouth by the South West Ambulance Service.

"Two males who are known to each other had been involved in an altercation in the street.

"One male was taken to Derriford Hospital where he received treatment. His condition is described as stable. This is an isolated incident and the police are not looking for any other offenders.

"Officers from the local policing team will be in the area today conducting reassurance patrols and seeking to identify any witnesses in the area.

"Detectives at Charles Cross Police Station are investigating this incident and would ask that any members of the public who have any information that may assist the police investigation, to contact 101 and quote log number 36 of 7th February 2021. A/Detective Inspector Gould"
