A380 reopens following single-car crash

UPDATE (08:44): A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall police said, "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on the South Devon Highway at Torquay at around 3.55am today, Thursday 10 October.

"A man was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered to be life threatening or life changing.

"Local road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the scene.

"The road was reopened at around 8.15am."

The A380 was closed between Torquay and Newton Abbot as emergency services dealt with a crash involving a single car.

The closure stretched from Edginswell to Northern Kingskerswell, northbound- it was closed for almost 4 and a half hours.

The South Devon Highway shut from the A3022 Hamelin Way (Torbay) to Kingskerswell Road (Kingskerswell).

A live traffic map from the AA showed heavy congestion with slow-moving traffic stretching all the way back to Marldon.
