82-year-old woman dies after collision in Bridgerule

An 82-year-old woman has died following a two-car collision in Bridgerule, Holsworthy.

The collision happened on the B3254, at around 3pm on Friday 16th January and involved a silver Ford Focus and a red Ford Fiesta.

The woman, who was a passenger in the Fiesta, died in hospital on Saturday.

Her next of kin has been informed and is being supported by a specially trained officer.

The driver of the Fiesta, who is in his 70s, remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

His next of kin have been informed.

The two people in the Focus were taken to hospital with serious injuries which are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing.

Police are appealing for witnesses and officers from the Roads Policing Team have thanked the public for their patience while the road was closed for investigative work.
