69 year old woman arrested as part of ongoing murder investigation

Investigations continue at the scene after a man in his 70s died following a suspected stabbing.

Police were called to a report of a stabbing at an address in Braunton, North Devon, at around 2.35pm yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers and paramedics attended and a man aged in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next-of-kin have been informed.

"A 69-year-old woman from the North Devon area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time.

"Officers remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing.
