200th 'community landing site' is today being celebrated
It allows the rescue service to get closer to potential incidents - speeding up response times

The 200th Devon Air Ambulance Community Landing Site officially opens later in Fremington, North Devon.
A spokesperson for the service said: "We have been working with communities throughout Devon over several years to establish a network of Community Landing Sites to support our night flying operations.
"These sites have enabled us to reach a significant number of patients during the hours of darkness in some of our county’s most rural and remote areas. "
The Exeter-based aircraft operates until 2am every day and in 2021 was called to 276 missions in the hours of darkness using a growing network of Community Landing Sites
In 2022, this life-saving service - funded by donations - celebrated its 30th year. In 2021 they were tasked to 1384 missions by helicopter and 516 missions by 'critical care car'.
