20-year-old motorcyclist dies in North Devon crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal crash in North Devon.

It happened on the A388 near Torrington yesterday (27 July) involving four vehicles.

The rider of a motorcycle died on the scene - the other three were left un-injured.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

"At 1512hrs on Tuesday 27th July 2021 a four vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the A388 between Frithelstockstone and Stibb Cross near Torrington.

"The collision involved a red Suzuki Motorcycle, two rigid Heavy Goods vehicles and a white ford van.

"Sadly, the rider of the motorcycle a 20-year-old local male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 59 year-old male from the Torpoint area, a 39 year old male from the Bude area and another male local to the area were un-injured in the collision.

"Local officers as well as officers from the roads policing team and the Serious Collison Investigation Team attended the scene and a forensic examination was completed."
