A special ‘centenary hub’ is being unveiled this weekend to mark 100 years of Paignton Zoo.
It shows how the site has changed and the conservation work it’s done both locally and internationally.
This weekend will be a 'two-day party' with live music, activities and talks - even a chance to enjoy a bottle of Paignton Zoo’s centenary ale.
Events and Corporate Relationship Manager Katie White, who has been busy planning the event, said: “Without the help of local businesses, artists and bands, we wouldn’t be able to throw this event, so we’re very grateful to our community for helping us put together what promises to be an amazing weekend.
"Throughout the weekend, various local businesses will be running workshops around the zoo including The Rock Project who will be leading drop-in sessions for budding musicians, and Mushy Cow crafts who will be running a craft camp with badge making and pebble decorating activities.
"The Little Village People will be bringing a pop-up mini village for little ones to enjoy imaginative role play, and local artist Andrew Madgwick will be sculpting animals for all to see.
"Travel back in time to the 1920s with walking storytelling sessions to hear terrific tales from Paignton Zoo’s past, and spot Professor Seymour Stuff the explorer roaming the zoo. Plus, there will be a variety of animal talks throughout the weekend led by zoo rangers."
