Worries of the impact of the cost-of-living from Derbyshire charity
There are warnings some could be pushed to the brink
The country's mental health is probably the worst it has ever been - with the cost-of-living crisis, aftermath of the Covid pandemic and global instability - that's the warning from Mind.
Dr Sarah Hughes, chief executive of the charity fears about the impact this is all having.
It's also highlighted that the number of people taking their own lives increased following the financial crash in 2008.
The organisation also fear that the issue of mental health has fallen down the political agenda.
Jenny Hotchkiss from Derbyshire Mind told us:
"I'd like to see more investment in preventative support services so that we can support people earlier on when they start to struggle with their mental health.
"The aim should focus on trying to get those waiting lists down and to try and offer support earlier."
For those struggling, Jenny added:
"You can call the Derbyshire Mental Health Helpline on 0800 028 0077. It operates 24 hours a day and you can also call if you're concerned for a friend or relative."
