Woman 'appalled' by Ryanair after lack of compensation for two cancelled flights
Samantha Lancashire finally flew home to Cork from East Midlands Airport yesterday (Tuesday) evening
A self-employed woman is hundreds of pounds down, after Ryanair cancelled two of her flights back home to Cork, without offering ample food vouchers or a hotel.
Samantha Lancashire finally caught a flight from East Midlands Airport last night (Tuesday).
Air traffic control failures resulted in her original flight from Manchester, on Monday, being called off, and then again on Tuesday morning.
Samantha said there was a lack of communication for the first cancelled flight: "The Ryanair app had sent me a notification to say the flight was cancelled, upon going into the Ryanair app to change the flight, and try and re-book for a new one, all options were showing the flight was going ahead, as a result of that, any changes were chargeable."
Samantha's spent over 300 euros out of her own pocket, and was only given a £3 meal voucher when reaching East Midlands Airport: "When you're running your own business and you've got responsibilities at home, it just compounds that feeling of stress and anxiety.
"I have had to let down two clients which is obviously damaging for my reputation, but also it means I am unable to bill for those hours and as a result, there is a loss of earnings there for me."
Ryanair said: "We apologise sincerely to customers for these cancellations and delays. Our teams are working hard to minimise inconvenience to our passengers. Please check your Ryanair app for latest flight updates."
