Derby County Community Trust along with participants from Tackle It and GREAT Girls Hub held a uniform collection over the summer to help 50 local families.

The two groups received donations of new and nearly new shirts, shoes, skirts, and trousers at Pride Park Stadium. They then turned them into uniform packages to help support families in the local community as children get ready to return to school this week.

They also provided local health practitioners with uniform which will be given to asylum seeking families as they settle in the UK and their children start at school.

Matt Deacon, Health Team Leader, said:

“It was a fantastic initiative from the young people and was for a worthwhile cause. To be able to support 50 families is amazing and I want to give a massive thank you to everyone who donated and helped make it possible. We couldn’t have done it without you and the support you give us and the families we work with is so appreciated.”

Tackle It is Derby County Community Trust’s wellbeing programme for young males who are struggling with their mental wellbeing you can find out here.

The GREAT Girls Hubs aims to support young females with their wellbeing. The sessions are based on the GREAT values of Gratitude, Resilience, Empathy, Authenticity, Teamwork.
