Two men arrested after Derby stabbing

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault in Derby.

Officers were called at 10.50am to reports that a man had been stabbed in Laverstoke Court, off Peet Street, Derby. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains there receiving treatment.

Derbyshire Police have arrested two men in their 20s on suspicion of attempted murder.

They remain in police custody.

All those involved in the incident are understood to be known to one another and officers go on to say there is no wider risk to the local community.

A significant police presence will remain in the Laverstoke Court area, however, as investigations continue.
