Detectives investigating a serious assault in Derby city centre are appealing for witnesses to help with their enquiries.

The incident took place at around 1.30am on Saturday 24 September outside Celtic House in Friary Street.

The victim, a boy of 16, suffered serious injuries which are not believed to be life threatening and he remains in hospital.

The assault is believed to be linked to an earlier incident that took place in the road and saw a large group fighting in Friary Street at around 11pm on Friday 23 September.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed either incident – in particular any drivers with dashcam from the area that may have captured either the 11pm or 1.30am incidents.
