Police release more details about 'unexplained' death in Barrow upon Trent

A man's body was found at layby on Sinfin Lane just after 12.40pm on Wednesday

Police are continuing to investigate the death of a man in Barrow upon Trent yesterday.

They were called to a layby on Sinfin Lane just after 12.40pm on Wednesday 14 December to concerns for a man aged in his 20s. East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, they are treating the death as unexplained, and enquiries are ongoing.

The roads around Barrow Upon Trent have now reopened, but the layby remains closed, and officers will continue to be in the area.

Patrols are also being carried out by the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team and they would encourage anyone who may have any information or concerns to speak to them.

In particular, officers are keen to speak to anyone who was near the layby or who may have dashcam footage from the area between 11.45am and 12.40pm yesterday.
