Network Rail have apologised for delays

Emergency repairs have closed a section of the A6135 Station Road in Renishaw.

It's as inspections found historic damage from a traffic incident had weakened the bridge wall. Engineers will carry out inspections and maintenance.

However, it does mean the road will close until the evening of Friday 20 May, with a signed diversion put into place. The team say that they are making every effort to reopen the area sooner where possible.

A spokesperson for Network Rail said, "We're sorry to business owners and people living in the village for the short notice and for the impact. These urgent works will make the bridge secure for years to come and improve safety for drivers and passengers. Our national helpline is available 24/7 on 03457 11 41 41 for anybody who has questions or concerns."
